Landscape Design Studio
Create something wonderful
About StudioPlum
StudioPlum is a small Sydney-based landscape design practice with a broad range of expertise ranging from designing intimate garden courtyards with homeowners to multidisciplinary project teams working on residential and commercial sites.
We work in collaboration with landscape construction professionals, all with a similar focus on professional advice and quality finishes.
The Person Behind StudioPlum
Tania Landsdorff started StudioPlum in 2012 (formerly trading under Landsdorff Landscapes). She has completed diplomas in both horticulture and landscape design, as well as training & assessment and management.
Tania’s broad portfolio, spanning over 15 years, contains projects ranging in size and complexity from both public and private sectors. These include projects for residential clients, public open space, Government sector, commercial developments, playgrounds, and creek and bushland rehabilitation projects based in and around the Sydney region. Tania has developed an integrated understanding of all stages of the design, documentation and construction process including concepts, developed design, detailed documentation, design guidelines and contract management.
Tania’s understanding of construction is well honed through her experience working for landscape contractors, and working for landscape architecture practices. For several years Tania has tutored Landscape Architect students in construction, interpreting engineering plans, documentation and grading at the University of NSW. She has also taught CAD to Landscape Design students at Ryde School of Horticulture.
But it doesn’t just come down to one person. StudioPlum draws on a handful of skillful professionals depending on the workload at hand, thereby being flexible and responsive. We work in collaboration of various companies and people within the industry who have many sets of specialised skills: landscape contractors, nurseries, stonemasons, arborists, pavers, carpenters, metal fabricators and electricians, amongst others. Each project requires a different set of skills and StudioPlum draws on these associations to best meet the needs of projects at hand.
“Unlike works of art that are perfect upon completion, the art of shaping the landscape is subtle and takes time to achieve the intended result. That result is forever changing with nature forcing the landscape to bend and respond in different ways..”
— Tania Landorff
“Good gardens deliver at a subconscious level and, more often than not, we do not register why something is ‘right’. We are, however, likely to notice when something is ‘wrong’.”
– Emma Reuss
“We may think we are nurturing our garden, but of course it is our garden that is nurturing us.”
